INTRODUCTION

I was part of the founding faculty for ELLIS Preparatory Academy, an international public high school in New York City designed for newcomers ages 16-21. Currently, I consult with public schools in the Northeast. My philosophy as a consultant is rooted in student advocacy. I guide teachers to better support students with diverse backgrounds-cultural, linguistic and academic- through culturally reflective curriculum, social emotional learning and literacy and language support. As a consultant, I work with a range of intermediate and secondary schools that have diverse student populations and specialize in supporting high ELL populations. My goal is to inspire teachers to use their innate creativity to develop unit and lesson plans that focus on inquiry, content, literacy skills And language development to support multilingual learners.
