Working in Inclusion Settings: Integrating Students with IEPs into the General Education Setting

This course will give novice and early career teachers guidance for how to meaningfully include students with IEPs into an ELL or bilingual classroom setting.

Join Ms. Marissa in this introduction series! We will cover the basics and allow you a chance to learn how to: understand the values of a great inclusion classroom, use data from IEPs and ACCESS testing to plan strategically, and monitor progress during the school year.

About Instructor

Marissa Blankenship

Ms. Marissa is the Director of Curriculum and Instruction at Esperanza Therapeutic School in Chicago, IL. Esperanza works with students between the ages of 5 and 22 with disabilities. At Esperanza, Marissa directs all aspects of teaching including: professional development, supervising and coaching teachers, and managing technology and curriculum rollout. Marissa is also the special education case manager and oversees her school’s compliance with local district regulations in relation to special education.
